Once again this year, the giving spirit of the holiday season shone brightly across PCP - thanks to the immense generosity of its corporate partners and the PCP community at-large. The highlight of December 2023 was PCP's annual holiday potluck gathering at Centre Communautaire Marcel-Morin where entire families, volunteers, and staff gathered to celebrate the holiday season and the community's multi-cultural diversity. In addition to the meal, the PCP youngsters put on a dance show and of course, Santa dropped by to personally hand out gifts. This memorable evening would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of PCP staff along with a host of generous volunteers, most notably:
Cette année encore, l'esprit de générosité des fêtes de fin d'année a brillé dans tout le PCP, grâce à l'immense générosité de ses entreprises partenaires et de l'ensemble de la communauté du PCP. Le point culminant de décembre 2023 a été le repas-partage annuel de PCP au Centre Communautaire Marcel-Morin, où des familles entières, des bénévoles et des membres du personnel se sont réunis pour célébrer la saison des fêtes et la diversité multiculturelle de la communauté. En plus du repas, les jeunes de PCP ont présenté un spectacle de danse et, bien sûr, le Père Noël est passé pour distribuer personnellement des cadeaux. Cette soirée mémorable n'aurait pas été possible sans les efforts inlassables du personnel de PCP et d'une foule de généreux bénévoles, notamment :
Pfizer : led by Tanya Schwab and her amazing volunteer team - these wonderful folks bought, wrapped, individually tagged, and delivered over 200 gifts for over 95 PCP families.
Rolls Royce : true to his surname, Dwight Faithful and a number of new and returning merry volunteers came out to help set and clean-up, serve food, hand out gifts, and essentially assist wherever needed to ensure the evening ran smoothly.
Plats du Chef : a warm thank you to Hamideh Yousefi Shakeri at Plats du Chef for the generous donation of naan and churro bites, plus rolled tacos for our holiday event. As the saying goes..."food brings people together" and this spirit was emphatically and thoughtfully on-hand.
Thank you to L'Oréal Canada for the generous donation of cosmetic and skin care products, which were gratefully appreciated by all PCP member recipients. And finally, a special shout-out to William and Jesse and the entire team at Tim Horton's 3760 boul des Sources in D.D.O. for their ever-present, overwhelming support of PCP. The coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet goodies were greatly appreciated and totally consumed!
